Marko Serafimovski

Director of Rowing & Head Coach – Youth Women

Marko began his rowing career in Rowing Club Smederevo in Serbia, one of the most successful rowing clubs in the country. Between 1997 and 2003, Marko won 6 national titles, competed in and won at many international regattas in Europe. In 2001, Marko was a member of the Junior National Team that competed at the World Rowing Championships in Duisburg, Germany.

After graduating from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a degree in Industrial Management and Marketing, Marko took the path of coaching. In his 5 years of experience as a Head Coach of a Youth Women’s program, Marko produced numerous high-caliber rowers who were sought after by top-ranked colleges throughout the county. Some of these athletes went beyond club competition to compete for national teams in the United States and Great Britain.

Looking for a greater challenge in developing new clubs, and producing top-level rowers, Marko accepted a director’s position at RowAmerica Rye.
